Software Driver Issues

If your computer does not find the driver automatically, follow those steps:

Our tool uses the FT231X USB IC to communicate with the computer. You will need to install the Virtual Com Port driver from FTDI. The driver is the same as the one for Arduino boards. Follow the instructions below.

Windows

1) Download this driver: v2.12.06.exe

2) Execute the file using administrator privileges (right-click on program icon and click “Run as administrator”).

For updated drivers you may check on the FTDI website.

Mac

1) Determine your OS version (how) and download the correct driver:

• Mac OS X 10.3 to 10.8: v2.2.18.dmg
• Mac OS X 10.9 and above: v2.3.dmg

2) Mount the downloaded dmg file, and run the included FTDIUSBSerialDriver.pkg file (help).

Linux

Check on the FTDI website to determine what driver to install.
