Electric Motor Heat Testing

Measure the temperature of your motor, ESC, and battery simultaneously

Our thrust stands collect temperature data from three points simultaneously.

What Tests Can I Perform?

  • Test your limits- determine the max temperature for safe operation
  • Endurance test- long form tests in a heated environment
  • Flight replay- replay flights with controller data and study temperature changes

Why Perform Motor Heat Testing

  • Determine limits when there's no clear documentation
  • Prevent overheating and failure
  • Save money by protecting components
  • Optimize flight plans based on data

How to Perform Motor Heat Tests

1. Install your motor and propeller on the thrust stand

2. Attach up to 3 temperature probes to the propulsion system

3. Create a model to estimate temperature dissipation

4. Open the software and connect the test stand

5. Design a manual or automated test and click ‘Run’

6. Export data to a .CSV file and look at temperature changes
